Hampshire Fire Brigade Call on PBCC RRT

When one hundred  fire fighters attended a blaze at a thatched cottage in the picturesque village of Ibthorpe, near Andover, central command at Hampshire Fire Brigade headquarters called on the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church Rapid Response Team to help with the welfare of their fire fighters.

The emergency services were called at 7pm on Thursday 21st to the two-storey thatched home. Crews attended from Andover, Whitchurch, Newbury, Sutton Scotney, Overton, Ludgershall, Stockbridge, Winchester, Amesbury, Eastleigh and Pewsey and were present for over seven hours.

The cottage roof was 50% damaged by the fire while the internal areas were 100 per cent damaged by smoke and water.

The PBCC RRT was asked to attend at 8.30pm and were in attendance until 2.30am on Friday 22nd. Fire fighters were fed with tea and coffee, biscuits and snacks, and hot pizza as they battled with the fire in a wind chill factor reported to be -7 degrees. All crews present were visibly very thankful for the services provided by the RRT. Said one crew member “where have you guys come from? We never get this sort of treatment”.

13 members of the Andover RRT worked throughout the night to deliver their services to the local brigade. The PBCC Rapid Response Team is set up nationally and is a free service offered to emergency services during prolonged incidents

These blogs advertising the money you give away are all well and good, (although it seems like you are just patting yourselves on the back), but why isn’t there more about your services and Church life?

      Dave,
I assume that you haven’t seen the website http://www.plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch.org/ I hope this helps! 🙂

      Hi Dave,
if you’re looking for Christian resources that are used by the brethren, I found this link on another post: http://www.christiandoctrineandgospelpublishing.org/ . To find out more about their church services, I suggest you use the contact form on the website that Nctf points to or post specific questions here. They do also welcome visitors to their frequent services; you can look up your nearest Meeting Hall (if you are in the UK) at https://theplymouthbrethren.org.uk/our-locations/. Hopefully they will continue adding more Christian learning material to their site (or improve the links to such) as there is an increasing need for it in today’s world. God bless your search!
As to “>justthemselves< on the back" , I always find it inspiring to hear how people are helping others out. Another view would be that their co-ordinators are giving the volunteer’s a much deserved ‘pat on the back’.
Let your light shine out PBCC!

Dave, our God is the God of all encouragement! we are basically just encouraging each other to keep going.
And we have been asked to provide evidence of how we serve the wider community.
As for church services, please see main website.
Hope this helps with your questions.
