Painting the Pavilion for the Parish

The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church have completed another painting project in Binley Woods, near Coventry in the UK. The pavilion in the recreation ground, which is used mainly for football matches and by the local playgroup, was beginning to look a bit the worse for wear both inside and out. The rendered exterior of the building had a lot of marks from muddy footballs and unfortunately quite a bit of graffiti here and there as well.

A team of volunteers from the Plymouth Brethren transformed the building in one Saturday, coating interior walls and ceilings in fresh new paint and applying gloss to scuffed and worn doors and frames. Thanks to fine weather on the day, they were also able to completely re-paint the exterior walls and replace a missing section of guttering too.

The pavilion is looked after by Binley Woods Parish Council who were delighted with the result. A spokesman for the Brethren team said “The Parish Council members put in a lot of voluntary time to help make the village a better place to live and they operate on a tight budget. This was an opportunity to do our bit and help them out.”

It used to be white…
