Porchlight Gratitude to Plymouth Brethren in Kent

Letter to Plymouth Brethren from Porchlight

Dear Timothy

Thank you so much for the generous donation of food that was made on behalf of the Plymouth Brethren to New Wharf, one of our support hostels in Tonbridge.  We can’t thank you enough for your support.  Your contribution enables us to continue to change the lives of vulnerable and homeless people across Kent.

To show you how important your gift is to us I have included Frankie’s story at the bottom of this email. Life was going smoothly for Frankie until he contracted tuberculosis in 2002 resulting in a meningococcal infection that led to brain damage. His life became chaotic and he often found himself in the dangerous situation of sleeping rough before Porchlight stepped in.  Now Frankie is settled in his own flat and in the process of re-connecting with his family.  It would not be possible for us to change the lives of people like Frankie without your support so thank you again for your donation!

If you would like to read more about our work or real life stories from people we have helped, please go to our website www.porchlight.org.uk and from there you can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Following our telephone conversation recently, our Community Fundraiser, Rachel Van Hoven, would love to come and give a brief talk at one of your meetings to explain a bit more to you and your congregation about the work of Porchlight and how much we value the support of the community in order for us to continue this work.  If this is something you would be interested in then please contact me on 01227 813199 or reply to this email.

In addition, I would love to keep you updated on developments in the charity.  If you would like to be added to the mailing list and receive our newsletter twice a year then please reply with a postal address address.  You can opt out of the mailing at any time  Alternatively, you can sign up to our e-newsletter from our website if you would prefer to be contacted by email.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Again, our sincere thanks for your commitment to Porchlight and wanting to make a difference.

With best wishes

Well done to the Plymouth Brethren for supporting such an important cause! The work that Porchlight do is invaluable, and it’s great that a Christian group can help out.

Verry Good! We have always been impressed of the generosity of the Christian Brethren community, its alway been said make it better by one but this more then that. because it means alot more when people go out of their way to help people they dont even know. keep it up becuase not everyone has the courage to help people who sleep rough..
